January Carp on the fly

Carpin was excellent right up until xmas but the recent full really put them down and the shot's were few and far between. Iv'e been down with a nasty bug this week but I did get a two hour session in today and was thrilled to see a good number fish. First couple shots were off line but ended up with two eaters back to back. They were both small 20" fish but I was stoked to stick my first Carp of the year. Also saw a pearl white Koi cruising with a couple of fatties but they were just out of range.

So is that KOI in a spot where you can find it again and maybe get a shot eventually?

Good deal! Always love to hear of people catching carp if I'm not. Woke up to my Alaska mornings as I have for a week with no end in sight. Hope you feel better soon, I just don't get sick and am now, hopefully not a week!

Yup, I should be able to get another shot on the Koi.. There is another lake near by that is loaded with some really nice Koi but it ,s a city park and a pain in the ass to fish with all the people around. Thanks Gregg, feeling much better and spent the day on the water today.
