February so far..

has brought us a little rain and we will take what we can get.   Most of the quality fish vanished from a week or so ago porbobably due to lower temps. Large schools of juvi Carp in the 2-5lb class are everywhere and aggresive!  A four hour walk will keep you busy and is still good fun on a 4-5wt. Actually, the small scrubs are pretty selective and not as easy as one might think. Just not as exciting if you know what I mean.  Air temps have dropped from the 70s to the low 60s and that doesnt help but its all good, we need this damn rain so bring it on.

Amen to the rain.

To me any carp is a good carp. We also get a small bit of precipitation, in snow, but need so much more.

Any carp this time of year is good! Its been continuous cold in KS with few days worth trying for some gold.

Keep doing your rain dances. What works for me is outdoor projects. I swear there was not a cloud in the sky when I started building that bird feeder yesterday, then it rained for almost 10 hours! I think I'll build another. :D

The weather here is changing and is
More like winter than we have had all year. Things will tighten up some.

Looks good. I went out by PA and found a sign saying the water way was closed due to trash from fishing. It is all the people using bait so now I just lost my favorite spot due to people leaving corn cans and other trash all over. Now I might have to try the trail. As far as rain this will be a hard summer in the Sierras for trout fish.

Hey Erik,

Yeah that sucks. I saw it too. That sign almost looks like bullshit though. A laminated piece of paper?. Maybe an email to the mayor is in order. I like that area!! I did find some fish up the peninsula a bit that seem untouched. Bad golfers were a little sketch though and i was in the line of fire if there swing wasn't halfway strait! We will have to get together some time.

If it isn't bull then I think they should make a distinction between bate and lure. Also wonder if it applies to up stream since I have caught a 24'' up there. I think I know what ponds you are talking about but was afraid I might get chased off. It sounds good but you might need a spotter. I am up to going out, still need to break in a new reel.
