Got out on Monterey Bay in the skiff last weekend. It was nice to be out there in near glass like conditions. Fishing was OK and I spent a big chunk of the day looking for White Sea Bass. Nothing going with them but it was steady in the kelp beds for a pretty good variety of fish. The weather was as nice as it gets on the Pacific! I might head back in the morning as the forcast looks good. Bass fishing is pretty good all over right now and i'm heading out the door right now.

Fished Lake Nacimiento on Sunday. Naci is a little over two hours south of San Jose. Not a bad a day trip at all. Conditions were perfect aside from the early morning cold. Ended up warming to about 70 which was nice. The fishing started out tough and improved as the day warmed up. We caught some quality White Bass along with some decent Spotted Bass. Total was around 30 fish for the day with about half of those coming in the last hour. The White Bass are alot of fun once you find them. Already looking forward to heading back!

Is slow for this time of year. Atleast for me it is. I can't seem to get anything going the last week or so. One day is good the next off and then the next is so so. It's early in the year but still. Fishing hasn't been that good as of late. I fished the California Delta this past Saturday and it was tough as nails! Two of us ended the day woth two keepers and about 4-5 missed bites. Just could not get anything going at all. Conditions were good. Actually great. Sunday, I fished a local reservior and struggled there too. I caught 6 Largemouth and my partner 1. Thats terrible fishing if you ask me. Oh well, it can only get better from here and the weather and scenery was awesome! Next time.
